About
Reza Taghawi, MSc.

I started where the internet was still hand-wired: running network operations centers for early Austrian providers, designing backbones, building the networks everything else depended on. Two decades and a few thousand incidents later, the through-line of my work hasn’t changed — keeping critical operations running, whatever the decade throws at them.
Today I manage the group SOC at twinformatics, the IT provider of Vienna Insurance Group — after years of leading datacenter services and building up the security operations team there. Before that: infrastructure and network security across manufacturing and consulting, from Semperit to NextiraOne. Since 2021 I also teach at FH Technikum Wien as a lecturer for IT infrastructure, security and offensive cyber security.
r-sec is my personal site — not a company, not a service. It’s where I think out loud about the three things I keep coming back to: security operations that survive real incidents, AI that actually takes work off people’s plates, and infrastructure that is boring in the best possible way.
